Corrections
When we confirm a factual error, we correct it and say so.
- A wrong figure, date, name, place or attribution.
- A source link that does not support the sentence it is attached to.
- Material shown with the wrong verification status.
- A person named contrary to the naming rules in the Method.
The case file is changed, a dated note on the case page says what was wrong and what it now says, and the change is listed in the log below. Spelling fixes and the replacement of a dead link with an archived copy of the same page are made without a note.
When material labelled "reported but not verified" is later confirmed by a source, it is moved into the record and the change is logged.
Where a party disputes a case, its public account — a statement, a court filing, a report — can be set beside the other accounts with its source.
Write to corrections@whogains.org with the address of the case page, the sentence in question and the source that shows the error.
Corrections are listed here with their date.
